What to include
Part use, operating environment and assembly requirements, plus whether a 3D drawing or a physical sample already exists. This shortens the assessment.
-
What happens next
We confirm receipt, list what will be assessed and tell you which documents or samples are still needed.
For visits or sample shipments, call first so we can confirm the receiving details and the contact person and avoid delays.
Before you write
Four details that speed up the assessment
-
Part use and environment
Which device it goes into, whether it seals, the media it contacts and the temperature range. These decide the material and the structure direction.
-
Assembly and fit
Which parts it mates with, how it is fixed, and whether it must be disassembled later. These drive the overmold coverage and the tolerance plan.
-
Drawings or samples
3D drawings are ideal; a physical sample works too. With a sample we confirm the structure first, then discuss material and tooling.
-
Quantities and timing
Sample quantity, volume range and schedule affect the choice of molding method and tool structure, so state them early.
FAQ
Questions about inquiries and assessment
Can you assess my part first, without an order?
Yes. The assessment establishes whether the overmold structure is feasible and which risks must be handled first; you then decide whether to move on to tooling and sampling.
How should I send drawings?
Describe the requirement in the inquiry form first; we will agree on the file transfer method with you. For confidential projects an NDA can be signed before any file is sent.
I only have a sample, no drawings. Is that enough?
Yes. We assess the structure and the bonding method from the sample, confirm which dimensions must be preserved, and then decide whether drawings are needed.
